Market surveillance

This is done to monitor and withdraw all non-conforming products from the market in a bid to protect consumers and promote fair trade.

Market surveillance is done by a team of inspectors looking for banned, substandard and counterfeit products that may have entered the Rwandan market through illegal means like smuggling or products manufactured illegally
Such products are usually ceased for destruction and depending on the seriousness of the situation the person dealing in such goods may be put out of business by the law.
