RBS Volume Laboratory Inter-comparison

Very soon, RBS Volume Laboratory will start its first regional inter-comparison.

The main objectives of this comparison are, to:
  a)     Facilitate the demonstration of metrological equivalence between the participating

National Metrology Institutes (NMIs) in the East African region while also building the foundation for the mutual recognition of the calibration and measurement certificates issued by the participating NMIs

b)    To harmonize primary volume measurements throughout the East Africa region

c)    To facilitate free flow of knowledge and technology among the participating NMIs.

d)    To provide supporting evidence for the calibration and measurement capabilities (CMCs) claimed by the participating laboratories in the EAC region.

The procedures that are intended to allow for a clear and unequivocal comparison of the measurement results and to demonstrate the equivalence of measuring results obtained with the same Volume artifact in different national institutes within the East Africa community have been sent.

The participants are: Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi.
The Comparison Identifier is Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in collaboration with East African Community (EAC).
The Pilot Institute is Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) .
