Information and Documentation Centre
An information and documentation centre plays an important role in facilitating the bureau in its activities of formulating, promoting and applying standards specifications and codes of practices; by collecting, identifying, and disseminating information on standards and other related documents not only to staff members of the bureau but also to the external users on national and international level.
Its main objectives
The main objective of the information centre is to disseminate information on standards and answering questions pertaining to standards from the public, at national and international level.
Functions
An information and documentation centre give access to standards information whether, they are national, regional or international. Other functions are:
- Maintain sets of standards
- Provide information on standards in accordance with the user needs
- Identify technical regulations
- Give the latest edition of standards and amendments that have been issued
- Search for information and documents and produce a list of relevant standards and documen
