Technical Committees available at Rwanda Bureau of Standards
The technical work of elaborating national standards is carried out by the technical committees under supervision of the industry standards committees. It is the technical committee’s primary task to come up with specific standards for specific products or services. The committee is therefore solely responsible for the technical contents of standards prepared by it.
The draft standards accepted by the committees are widely circulated to the public for comments and after adoption by the Industry Standards Committees are submitted to the Board of Directors for approval as Rwanda Standards.
Each Technical Committee comprises of:
- The chairman
- The Secretary and
- Committee members
The committee Secretary is always from the Bureau staff while the chairman is elected among members for term of three years renewable. Members are experts representing Government Institutions, Manufacturers, Producers, Consumer Associations, Universities, Experts and other interested Stakeholders.
